 Assessment Plan
Purpose:
The purpose of this assessment plan is to make sure preschool age children (age 3-5) have learned specific math concepts.
Learning Outcome:
Given everyday objects, student will recognize them into groups based on attributes: color, shape, size.
Assessment Context:
1.      Give the students a piece of paper with different shaped objects. Instruct students to cut out different shapes and glue onto another piece of paper by shape into 4 categories: circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles.
2.      Give the students a small felt board divided into four sections with a different color in each section. Hand out various shapes and instruct children to identify the colors of the shapes and match them to the four categories on their felt board(red, blue, yellow, and green).
3.      Give the students cutouts of an apple in 4 different sizes. Instruct children to tape cutouts to paper by size, smallest to biggest.

Testing Constraints:
This assessment will be used after the completion of a unit on colors, shapes, and sizes. Each student will get 10 minutes to complete each of the three activities. The student will work alone during the assessment. Student will accomplish additional instruction and retesting if scoring below and eight out of twelve. Instructions will be given by the teacher or teacher’s aide to ensure students understand what is expected. Students will be allowed to ask questions during the assessment to make sure students understand the directions.
